Produtores e frigoríficos mostram interesse pela certificação da pecuária




No dia primeiro de setembro, entrou em vigor uma nova certificação da Rede de Agricultura Sustentável (RAS), desta vez para produtos da pecuária em países tropicais.
A atividade pecuária é considerada hoje uma das que geram maior impacto social e ambiental no país, e essa certificação pretende atestar que fazendas de gado respeitam o meio ambiente e a legislação.
O novo selo vai permitir que o consumidor reconheça, nas prateleiras de supermercados, quais são os produtos que não causaram desmatamento nem se utilizaram de trabalho infantil ou forçado, por exemplo.
Para explicar como funciona essa nova certificação, o site Amazonia.org.br conversou com a coordenadora do projeto de certificação agrícola do Instituto de Manejo e Certificação Florestal e Agrícola (Imaflora), Daniella Macedo.  Segundo ela, produtores e frigoríficos já mostram interesse por essa nova certificação.

Producers and slaughterhouses show interest in certification of livestock 

On September 1, entered into force a new certification from the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), this time for livestock products in tropical countries.The cattle industry is now considered one of the largest generating social and environmental impact in the country, and this certification intends to certify that the cattle farms and environmentally friendly legislation.
The new label will allow consumers to recognize, on the shelves of supermarkets, which are the products that did not cause deforestation or made use of forced or child labor, for example.
o explain how this new certification, the site Amazonia.org.br spoke with the coordinator of agricultural certification from the Institute of Forest Management and Agricultural and (Imaflora), Daniella Macedo. She said manufacturers and stores are already showing interest in this new certification.
