Governo quer leiloar mais dez hidrelétricas ainda este ano

O presidente da Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (EPE), Maurício Tolmasquim, disse que o objetivo do governo é fazer mais um leilão, ainda este ano, para construção e operação de dez usinas hidrelétricas. "Estamos trabalhando para isso, mas é claro que o prazo é muito curto e tudo ainda depende de as licenças [ambientais] saírem a tempo", afirmou Tolmasquim logo após ter apresentado ao Conselho de Infraestrutura da Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo (Fiesp) o planejamento da EPE para o período 2010-2019.
Das dez usinas em questão, cinco serão instaladas no Rio Parnaíba, na divisa entre Piauí e Maranhão; quatro na Bacia do Rio Teles Pires, em Mato Grosso, e uma - a Usina Hidrelétrica de Riacho Seco - na Bacia do Rio São Francisco, na divisa da Bahia com Pernambuco.
"Queremos realizar o leilão, no máximo, até meados de dezembro. Para isso, é necessário publicarmos o edital até meados de novembro. Portanto, o ideal é que as licenças sejam emitidas até a publicação do edital, mas ainda vamos analisar se é possível obtermos a licença até próximo da data do leilão", declarou Tolmasquim.
O presidente da EPE disse ainda que está conversando com representantes do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (Ibama), das secretarias estaduais de meio ambiente e da Fundação Nacional do Índio (Funai) para tentar agilizar os processos de licenciamento. "Estamos correndo para ver se eles agem celeremente para que dê tempo", disse Tolmasquim.
Ele informou que, no dia 10, o governo entregou ao Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU) os estudos de impacto relativos às usinas de Teles Pires, Sinop e São Manuel, na Bacia do Rio Teles Pires, além de Riacho Seco, no Rio São Francisco. Os estudos dos outros empreendimentos deverão ser entregues até o dia 10 de outubro.
