RESGATE DE ANIMAIS SILVESTES (REDEMPTION OF wild animals)

Filhote de peixe-boi é resgatado no Pará
Animal tinha arranhão no focinho e pesa 28 quilos.
É o 11º peixe-boi a ser levado para o ZooFIT neste ano.
Um filhote de peixe-boi encontrado perto da comunidade Cabeça de Onça, na região de Arapixuna, foi resgatado neste fim de semana e levado ao Zoológico das Faculdades Integradas do Tapajós (ZooFIT), no Pará. O resgate foi feito com ajuda do Ibama e do Corpo de Bombeiros após líderes comunitários entrarem em contato com o zoológico. "O peixe-boi é um animal migratório e em períodos de cheia precisa passar por canais. Às vezes, fica preso em redes de pesca e acaba se perdendo da mãe", diz Sidcley Matos, gerente do ZooFIT.
O animal tinha pequenos arranhões no focinho e chegou ao ZooFIT pesando 28 quilos. Desde o início do ano, o zoológico recebeu 11 animais, sendo que 3 ainda estão em cativeiro. Outros 6 foram levados a Belém e 2 morreram, segundo Matos.

A baby manatee community found near the head of Jaguar in the region of Arapixuna, was rescued this weekend and taken to the zoo Integrated Colleges of Tapajós (zoophytes), Pará The rescue was made with the help of IBAMA and Fire Department community leaders after coming in contact with the zoo. "The manatee is a migratory animal and in the flood season to go through channels. Sometimes it gets caught in fishing nets and end up losing the mother," says Sidcley Matos, manager of zoophytes.The animal had minor scratches on the nose and came to zoophytes weighing 28 pounds. Since the beginning of the year, the zoo received 11 animals, and three are still in captivity. Other 6 were moved to Bethlehem and two died, according to Matos.
